Del

VOLUNTEER Project Manager

Del is a retired public accountant having served the Loveland community for 42 years. “Retirement means to me to be able to give back to my community after concentrating all those years on my accounting practice.” I realize now that a better balance of work and community would have been optimum, but at the moment……Being involved with Be The Gift is a rewarding and satisfying experience for me. Working on projects and coming in contact with the single moms at these projects make you count your blessings as to where God has you at this point in time. The reward (blessing) for me has been far greater than I would have ever realized. I think I was blessed more than the mom’s whose projects I worked on. Once your eyes are opened to the needs of others, your own needs become less significant.

Tom

VOLUNTEER Project Manager

Tom has lived in the Loveland area for thirty-three years. He taught math at Bill Reed Middle School and Math/Construction at Loveland High School before retiring in 2009. He currently volunteers at Loveland High School, working with students building a Berthoud Habitat for Humanity home. He has been married to his lovely bride, Melissa for thirty-two years and has two grown children. Tom and Melissa enjoy traveling in their RV doing volunteer work throughout the United States.

Tom does not believe the Bible endorses retirement but instead believes we are re-fired to do ministry. His desire is to encourage moms by helping them maintain their home.

Chuck

VOLUNTEER Project Manager

Chuck has been part of Be the Gift since we first began in 2008.  He serves as a Board Member and also volunteers regularly on our home repair projects.  He states, “Most of our clients have little extra money and are in dire need of help with their homes.  Many times, the most satisfying part is helping their Children to have a better life situation and I believe that one of the advantages of Be the Gift is that you get to work directly with Mom’s and their Children rather than just sending a check or never getting to interact with those you desire to help.”

When asked about volunteering he says to focus on what you want to do, but don’t limit yourself.  Many of our volunteers help with projects that they have never done before and gain the satisfaction of helping others while learning all new skills.

Scott

VOLUNTEER Project Manager

Scott has been a supporter and part of Be the Gift since it began in 2008 serving our single moms and their children as a project volunteer. He worked for Be the Gift for 8 years and is now helping us as a volunteer again. He is married with two grown children and four grandchildren. He’s lived in Loveland for over 40 years, has great handyman skills and was involved previously involved in the golf industry and the landscape business.

He describes working for Be the Gift as rewarding to see so many moms trying to make their lives work while raising their children. He sees great joy and confidence returned when a project is completed. Scott recognizes the impact on all of our volunteers and says, “When you become a part of Be the Gift, you understand what it is like to do God’s work and lend a hand to someone in need. We cannot do it without your help, please join us!”
